Becoming a Statistic
Wednesday, July 1st, 2009I try to not let my personal life spill over into my webcomic here, but I wanted to share with you, my increasing readership, that I have just been laid off from my full time gig as a graphic artist. It’s a story I know you’re hearing everywhere everyday. However, I am not depressed about this, nor am I going to give you another sob story. This is an entertainment site and that is all I want to do: entertain you and make you laugh. Just bear with me for a moment.
I do not look at Spud Comics as a hobby. Since I was four I knew I wanted to draw for a living. This is a step into realizing that dream. I know it can be a daunting task. There are so many talented people out there trying to accomplish this same goal. I just hope you count me in with these folks.
This website is not going anywhere. I will still try to bring the funny Monday through Friday just like I’ve been doing since November of last year. All I ask is that you come by everyday and tell your friends. Sure I have some t-shirts for sale and I’ve added the “Buy Me a Beer” tip jar, but even if you just subscribe to the rss, comment, or follow me on Twitter, that’s more than enough to show your support for these silly drawings in square boxes.
OK, that’s it, now you know what’s going on behind the scenes. Thank you again, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
